Abstract
The Wigner-Seitz model formerly used to calculate the adiabatic barrier to electron penetration of liquid helium is applied to the study of the bubble model for a localized electron in liquid helium. Calculations of the pressure dependence of the radius of the negative ion agree with the experimental results to within an atomic radius in liquid helium. Comparison is made with other methods, and predictions regarding further properties of the negative ion are presented. Keywords
