Abstract
A brief historical review of clothing impregnation for the control of chiggers (Eutrombicula and related genera) is given. Results of field tests with 10 materials impregnated at 2 gms. per sq. ft. of cotton herringbone twill fatigue uniforms are given. Benzil and phenyl benzoate survived 3 and 2 more washes, respectively, than the concurrently tested benzyl benzoate. No recommendations are made because only benzyl benzoate has been passed toxicologically by the Food and Drug Administration .Keywords
