Abstract
Changes in whole blood viscosity are related to changes in the leg blood flow during infusions of low-molecular-weight dextran and Hartmann's solution. A close inverse correlation exists between changes in viscosity and blood flow, the change in blood flow being about three times greater than the change in blood viscosity. The dextran and Hartmann's solution had a similar effect on blood viscosity and blood flow if corrections are made for the difference in haemodilution. Keywords
