Abstract

Measurements of the mass and lifetime of the

Ξ_{c}^{+}

decaying into

Ξ^{-}

π^{+}

π^{+}

are presented. The data were accumulated by the Fermilab high-energy photoproduction experiment E687. The mass of the

Ξ_{c}^{+}

is measured to be 2464.4±2.0±1.4 MeV/

c^{2}

and the lifetime is measured to be 0.

41_{- 0.08}^{+ 0.11}

±0.02 ps.
