Abstract
Twelve laser-excited atomic fluorescence methods suitable for absolute temperature measurements in flames and other atomic and/or ionic reservoirs are reviewed and summarized. The different characteristics of the techniques are discussed. Several important parameters that need to be evaluated experimentally and the assumptions that need to be made in order to obtain meaningful temperature data from the selected method are emphasized. Keywords
