Abstract
A validity extension of the vocational preferences of a previously reported homogeneous sample was attempted for a heterogeneous sample of 30 clergymen. Preferences from the Vocational Preference Inventory indicated that a pattern for the heterogeneous sample had the same order of types as proposed by Holland. Significant differences were found between the two samples on the Conventional and Artistic scales. These findings generally support the concurrent validity of the classification scheme but also point out that differences in levels of preference can be found within two samples of a population. Keywords
