Abstract
To the Editor: The CSII insulin pump in conjunction with home glucose monitoring can improve metabolic homeostasis in insulin-requiring diabetes mellitus, and pump systems have now been released for general use. To attain optimal benefit, however, physicians and patients must be aware of the numerous technical problems that may arise. The following problems have developed during 2 1/2 years of daily use of the Mill–Hill Infuser. The pump may increase or decrease the basal rate or may jam altogether.
