Abstract
Four cases of gallbladder disease in a young age group are presented. Etiologic factors are discussed. Although gallbladder disease in children is uncommon, it should be ruled out in patients who present with abdominal complaints, especially with symptoms consistent with gallbladder disease. A good medical, economic and family-racial history is, as always, very important. There may be a female preponderance for cholelithiasis, even in children. A higher index of suspicion in the differential diagnosis of abdominal complaints may lead to a higher percentage of pre-operative diagnoses. Keywords
