Abstract
Unions’ attitude to flexible labour contracts tend to be defensive. The author argues that these contracts are inevitable anyway and that trade unions should adopt part‐time work as an alternative to insecure forms of work and as a policy organise the new entrants in the labour market. Some policy proposals are put forward. Keywords
