Anisocoria From Scopolamine Patches

Abstract
Incidental discovery of a dilated and fixed pupil in a patient with no clinical evidence of impaired oculomotor nerve function or increased intracranial pressure should suggest the diagnosis of pharmacologic dilation of the pupil. The diagnosis can be confirmed without the need for extensive neuroradiological evaluation by instillation of 0.5% to 1.0% pilocarpine hydrochloride in the affected eye. (JAMA 1982;248:353-354)
