Abstract
Preoperative ultrasonic evaluation of tumor invasion was performed in 24 patients with endometrial cancer and compared with intraoperative and histologic evaluation. Uterine volume and shape detected by ultrasound were not significantly associated with cancer stage. In all the patients intrauterine echoes were found. Myometrial invasion was superficial (2/3), and beyond the uterus in 5 patients. Ultrasonic prediction of invasion was accurate in 19 cases (79.3%). In 4 patients superficial invasion has been classified as moderate and in 1 case invasion beyond the uterus was classified as deep. Keywords
