Abstract
The syndromes of factitious fever and self-induced infection were reviewed and a discussion of 32 cases studied at the National Institutes of Health, and the extensive English Language literature. The nature of the underlying psychiatric illnesses were described and guidelines for the diagnosis and management of these patients presented.Keywords
