Abstract
This paper confirms the relationship between Pinnotheres pisum (Pennant) and Mytilus edulis L.; the larger crabs are found in the larger mussels. P. pisum is more frequently found in larger mussels which occur in greater numbers lower on the shore. The percentage infection of M. edulis by P. pisum differs from one locality to another at the same tidal level and it increases from the middle shore to the sublittoral zone for any given size group of M. edulis. The percentage infection is also related to the tidal level at which the population is living.
