Abstract
Doses of 40-60 mg. d-N-Methylamphelamine hydrochloride (Methedrine) and lysergic acid diethylamide (L. S. D.) were intraven. administered in various mental conditions. After initial relaxation the clinical picture became aggravated. L. S. D. tended to produce mood swings, absent with methedrine which readily provoked hallucinations in schzophrenics. Both drugs produced an initial rise, a drop to below starting level and a secondary rise in plasma epinephrine. Methedrine caused slight increase in the blood sugar concn. but the effects of L. S. D. were hardly significant. Keywords
