Abstract
The ontogeny, delimitation, and release of conidia from annellophores in Cryptosporiopsis sp., Melanconium bicolor, and M. apiocarpum are described in relation to the multilayered structure of conidium and conidiophore walls. Secession is effected by circumcision of an outer periclinal wall common to conidia and conidiophores. A comparison is made with the sequence in Phoma fumosa where limited evidence indicates a similar type of conidium development. Keywords
