Dielectric Loss of and Defects in Clay Minerals

Abstract
The dielectric behavior of different kaolinites has been examined at frequencies ranging from 100 cps to 20 Mcps and in function of the temperature (20°C—300°C). In the tanδ versus frequency curves from all the studied samples, maxima were observed. These maxima are due to a relaxation phenomenon which take place in the kaolinite lattice. An interpretation of the results is given.
