Abstract
Since the return of the St. George Expedition from the Pacific in 1925, a series of nine papers (2–8, 26, 27), describing the geology of most of the volcanic islands visited, has been published, and it is now possible to co-ordinate the results already arrived at, and to use them in an attempt to throw light on the structure of the Pacific basin. Keywords
