Abstract
The 197Au(n,2n)196g+m cross section at 14.68 MeV was measured relative to the 56Fe(n,p)56Mn cross section. The cross section ratio for the production of 196mAu and 196gAu was derived from an analysis of the shape of the decay curve of 196gAu. The 197Au(n, gamma )198Au cross section was (1.09+or-0.10) mb at 14.3 MeV relative to the 197Au(n,2n) cross section. Keywords
