Preparative Enzymatic Conversion of Guanosine-5′ -monophosphate to Guanosine-5′ - triphosphate

Abstract
An enzyme reactor containing guanylate kinase (EC 2.7.4.8) and pyruvate kinase (EC 2.7.1.40) was used for the preparative synthesis of guanosine-5′ -triphosphate (GTP) starting from guanosine-5′ -monophosphate (GMP), phospho(enol)-pyruvate (PEP) [2-(phosphonooxy)-2-propenoic acid] and catalytic amounts of adenosine-5′ -triphosphate (ATP).
