Abstract
Perry pear trees showing severe symptoms of silver leaf disease were treated by implantation with inoculum of a fungus known to be antagonistic to the pathogen Stereumpurpureum (Pers. ex Fr.) Fr. Reductions in the symptoms were significantly greater (P = 0.05) in treated than in untreated trees over a two-year period. To date, 61% of all trees treated have shown amelioration of symptoms. Keywords
