Abstract
Insulin was labeled with I131 and the effect of incubation with liver slices on the degradation of the insulin detd. The insulin inactivating activity of liver slices (insulinase) was associated with a degradation of the labeled insulin. This degradation followed first order kinetics and was related directly to the quantities of liver slices employed. In contrast to the effect of labeled insulin, liver slices had an insignificant effect on labeled human serum albumin. Keywords
