Abstract
A miniature gas thermometer, using a pressure transducer, has been shown to be an effective means of indicating the temperature of samples being heated by microwave radiation without the unwanted effects of more traditional temperature-measuring probes. Such a thermometer can also form the basis of a straightforward safety device to prevent the accumulation of flammable vapours when organic molecules are exposed to microwaves. Keywords
