Abstract
Air sampling is still an empiric art rather than a science. Its basic principles need to be elucidated. New developments in the field include detector tubes whose limitations must be recognized, personal samplers to be worn by an individual, installed sampling systems, selective size samplers and much associated equipment. Future work must associate the sampler with the exact disease-producing environmental factor. More information is needed on movement of particles with reference to air flow line and on the application of statistics to sampling techniques and evaluation of data. Keywords
