Abstract
For the past couple of decades we have witnessed two opposing forces simultaneously operating to thrust this subject into the vertex of government and industry concern. Since 1955, proliferation of computing devices has spawned a dramatic growth in radiated radio frequency energy. Concurrently, the use of plastics in electronic cabinetry has grown to a dominant position over steel and other metals. Plastics, being transparent to radio-frequency energies, permit such to escape into the atmosphere, causing massive disruptions in communication networks and even hazards to our health.
