THE ETIOLOGY OF RHEUMATIC FEVER

Abstract
A comprehensive review of the exptl. and clinical literature related to the currently accepted position of constitutional, genetic, environmental, dietary, bacterial, virus and chemical factors in the etiology of rheumatic fever. Clinical and exptl. pathologic similarities of this disease and rheumatoid arthritis, peri-arteritis nodosum and glomerulonephritis are indicated, and the hazard of transferring conclusions from animal experimentation to this human disease are stressed. 707 References.
