Abstract
The recent report1 of pseudomonas osteomyelitis following puncture wound of the foot raises the question of why this rarely reported, See Images in the PDF File but clinically recognized phenomenon occurs.* I would like to report an additional case which demonstrates similar evidence for the etiology. S.S., an 8-year-old Caucasian male, presented at this hospital with a several–day history of swelling and tenderness of the site of a nail puncture wound in the plantar aspect of the foot, approximately in the second metacarpal phalangeal area (Fig. 1).Keywords
