Abstract
Cell-mediated reactions to the carrier [human .gamma.-globulin] and antibody-mediated reactions to hapten [dinitrophenol] and carrier were studied in guinea-pigs treated with a single i.v. injection of BCG at different intervals of time before immunization with 2 different doses of a hapten-carrier complex. BCG-induced delayed hypersensitivity reactions to the carrier and decreased antibody synthesis to the hapten. BCG probably acts on a dispatcher cell which controls cellular and humoral immunity. This publication has 14 references indexed in Scilit:
