Abstract
A radio survey of 44 interacting systems of galaxies drawn from the Atlas and Catalogue of Interacting Galaxies by Vorontsov-Velyaminov has been made at 2700 and 5000 MHz using the Parkes 64-m telescope. The results have been compared with a larger sample of non-interacting, bright galaxies observed in a similar way at 2700 MHz. It is concluded that the interacting systems investigated show no anomalous radio properties. We interpret this conclusion as evidence against a nuclear ejection origin for the observed deformations in interacting systems.
