Abstract
A self-synchronisation technique suitable for both asynchronous and synchronous high speed photonic networks is demonstrated. Experimental results are presented in which an optical AND gate is used to derive a timing reference pulse from a palr of marker pulses positioned at the beginning of a 100 Gbit/s optical packet. Keywords
