Abstract
Recent investigations of the elastic and piezoelectric properties of Tanane have shown, in this disordered molecular crystal, a strong coupling between the shear strain uxy and the ordering of the polar molecules along the c direction. One of the consequences of these results, is that the ferroelectric transition temperature of a clamped crystal would be 67 K below the actual transition temperature of the free crystal (Tc = 286. 7 K).Keywords
