Abstract
GONORRHEA AND SYPHILIS — STANDARDS OF DIAGNOSIS, TREATMENT AND FOLLOW-UP STUDYWith the advice and assistance of the Advisory Committee to the Division of Venereal Diseases, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health has adopted standards for the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up study of patients with gonorrhea and syphilis who are seen in the state-co-operating venereal-disease clinics.On the basis of the changing terminology as applied to venereal diseases and particularly to syphilis, the following nomenclature has been adopted:GONORRHEAAcute — with or without complications.Chronic — involving the urethra (anterior and posterior), prostate, seminal vesicles, epididymis, vulva, cervix, pelvic . . .Keywords
