Abstract
Dissections of the reproductive tracts of 37 spp. of the subfamily Drosophilinae revealed the presence of ejaculatory sac diverticula in 14 spp. These ejaculatory sac appendages are descr. for the first time, and they are divided into 4 groups. The diverticula are found in 2 genera Scaptomyza and Drosophila. In 1 sp. there are anterior as well as posterior diverticula[long dash]all others have only one pair of posterior diverticula. These ejaculatory sac appendages are usually "s" shaped; in length they range from short, knob-like structures (D. tripunctata Loew) to structures about 8 times the length of the ejaculatory sac proper (S. adusta Loew). This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
