Abstract
Measurements of the thermal conductance of films near the superfluid transition indicate nonlinear behavior below , as well as above , for sufficiently large velocities. Below the behavior is characterized by an exponential dependence on film velocity. This suggests that, for our experiment, depinning is the dominant mechanism for free-vortex generation.
