Abstract
The use of Thompson''s modification of the method of Wilson and Blair in the determination of the presence of pathogenic clostridia in wound exudates and debrided tissue was evaluated both clinically and with pure cultures of various organisms. Many of the clostridia tested gave positive results but there was no correlation with toxigenicity. Positive cultures were obtained from the exudates of wounds of patients with and without clinical gas gangrene. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
