Abstract
The hemolysis of sheep red cells sensitized with 2, 10 or 20 doses of Forssman hemolysin, performed as a tltration of rabbit complement, was not inhibited by 100 [mu]g/ml hydrocortisone or 0.05 [image]. [epsilon]-amino caproic acid. The cytolysis of mouse skin fibre-blasts or BP8 mouse tumor cells sensitized with 3 cytolytic doses of rabbit hetero- or mouse isoantisera, performed as a titration of rabbit complement, was not inhibited by 100 [mu]g/ml hydrocortisone or 0.01 [image]. [epsilon]-amino-caproic acid. 0.05 [image]. [epsilon]-amino caproic acid exhibited aa extremely weak inhibitory eflict. Agglutination of human red cells by anti-A or anti-B and sensitization with ''incomplete'' anti-D and subsequent agglutination by antiglobulin serum was not inhibited by [epsilon]-amino caproic acid over a concentration range of 0.001 [image]. and 0.05 [image]. This is contrary to other reports in the literature. This information has been helpful in the analysis of the very damaging effect of this cytolytic system on chick bone rudiments in organ culture. Keywords
