Abstract
The hyperglycemic action of a series of 6 epinephrine analogs was studied in rabbits, following subcut. injn. of the hydrochlorides. Using 1-epinephrine for comparison, and assigning it the arbitrary activity of 100, the activity of the other compounds may be rated as follows (in terms of the free bases): 1-arterenol, 12; Win 3046 (dL-1- [3,4-dihydroxyphenyl] -2-isopropylamino-1-butanol), 1.7; Butanefrine, 1.6; Win 515 (dl-l-[3,4-dihydroxyphenyl]-2-cyclo-pentylaminobutanol), 0.7; d-arterenol, 0.6; and Isuprel, 0.12.Keywords
