Abstract
The retention of magnesium following an intravenous magnesium load was studied in 10 patients before and after oral treatment with magnesium chloride during 3 months. The high magnesium retention before treatment (44 ± 8%) decreased significantly after 3 months (to 23 ± 14%), indicating a magnesium deficiency which was corrected by oral administration of magnesium solution. Keywords
