Abstract
A modification of the x-ray anomalous transmission method utilizing a divergent beam source in conjunction with a synchronized specimen and film scanning technique is described. The method is applied to the study of lattice distortions accompanying the deformation of germanium, copper and tungsten crystals. The results are discussed in relationship to the structural characteristics pertaining to the ductile and brittle modes of deformation. Keywords
