Abstract
The effects of the distribution of enhancement factors η and spin-lattice relaxation times T1 upon the admixture of dispersion mode into the absorption signal and also on the amplitude of fast passage signals for nmr of ferromagnetic samples is investigated. It is shown that measurements of mode admixture and fast passage signals can yield values of η0T01 and T01 respectively where these are the values corresponding to nuclei at the centres of domain walls. From mode admixture measurements on bulk nickel at room temperature the value T01 = (7 ± 2) × 10-5 s is obtained. Analysis of fast passage data for powdered nickel at room temperature gives a value T01 similar 4 × 10-5 s.Keywords
