Abstract
The paper establishes the relationship between the coefficients of the closed-loop characteristic polynomial and the output feedback matrix. The conditions under which these coefficients are linear functions of the elements of feedback matrix are given. The results are used to determine the existence of stabilizing and pole assigning output feedback matrices. The maximum number of the arbitrarily assignable poles is also given. Keywords
