A low conductance optical slit for windowless vacuum ultraviolet light sources

Abstract

An optical slit that does not use a window material but which nevertheless has a low conductance for gas flow is described. It has a high efficiency ( approximately=40%) for transmitting vacuum ultraviolet light.
