Abstract
Attention is directed to the nonscaling behavior of inclusive cross sections which may accompany a rising inelastic proton-proton cross section. In particular it is pointed out that the observed "threshold rise" of the invariant inclusive cross section for antibaryon production toward its scaling limit in the CERN ISR energy region sets a mass scale similar to that observed in the rising total cross section. Keywords
