Abstract
One part blood or plasma is diluted with 39 parts of water and 10 parts of a 15% trichloroacetic acid soln. To 10 ml. of the clear filtrate is added 2 cc. 6 [image] HC1 and the mixture cooled to 1[degree]C. Then 1 cc. 0.1% NaNO2, 1 cc. 0.5% ammonium sulfamate, and 1 cc. of 100 mg.% N-(l-naphthyl)-ethylenediamine diHCl are added in that order. Colors produced are measured colorimetrically and compared with those produced by a standard p-aminosalicylic acid soln. Recoveries are from 90-95%.
