Abstract
Amino acid amide derivatives of the carcinogenic amines, 2-aminofluorene, 4-aminobiphenyl and 4,4′-diaminobiphenyl (benzidine) are hydrolyzed by highly purified leucine aminopeptidase of swine kidney. Because of the poor solubility of these compounds in water, the studies were performed in 60% methanol. The results are in general accord with the known specificity of the aminopeptidase. Keywords
