Abstract
Ganrot, P. O. & Niléhn, J.-E. Synthesis of an Abnormal Prothrombin in Malnutrition and Biliary Obstruction and during Dicumarol Treatment. Scand. J. clin. Lab. Invest. 28 245–249, 1971. An abnormal prothrombin fraction was found in blood plasma of 6 patients, who were not receiving dicumarol, and who had a markedly reduced prothrombin activity due to clinically suspected vitamin K deficiency. The fraction was electrophoretically and immunochemically indistinguishable from the abnormal prothrombin induced by dicumarol and similar drugs. No such abnormal fraction was found in patients with hepatitis and less markedly reduced prothrombin activity. Keywords
