Abstract
Both the parent susceptible strain and the resistant variant to either sulfathiazole, penicillin or streptomycin were obtained. These organisms consisted of several strains of Shigella paradysenteriae, Staphylococcus aureus, Proteus vulgaris, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus viridans and Staphylococcus albus. The susceptible and resistant members of a pair of organisms showed identical susceptibility to furacin (5-nitro-2-furaldehyde semicarbazone). Keywords
