Abstract
Nineteen cats were studied by an electrophysiologic technic. It was shown that the septal area has a much wider projection in the midbrain than does the fornix. Evoked potentials were recorded in all areas of the midbrain explored following septal stimulation; however, after stimulation in the fornix, responses were recorded only from a very small midline area. This area apparently extends no further posteriorly than the nucleus linearis rostralis. Keywords
