Abstract
The Rb/Sr ratios of magmas increase significantly during fractional crystallization. Hence, the rate of change of the 87Sr/86Sr ratio in successive residual liquids increases as crystallization proceeds. In slowly solidifying igneous complexes the total change in 87Sr/86Sr ratio exceeds analytical uncertainty and is manifested in several ways. Keywords
