Abstract
Platelet-activating factor (PAF) generated by an Ig[immunoglobulin]E-mediated reaction in the peritoneal cavity of rats was partially purified by adsorption to diatomaceous earth. It aggregated rat platelets and activated Hageman factor in in vitro and in in vivo conditions. The hemostatic alterations induced by PAF showed similarity to those observed in the early phase of rat anaphylaxis. This publication has 11 references indexed in Scilit:
