Abstract
Based on measurements of external .gamma.-radiation attributed to fallout deposited on the ground, the offsite population of .apprx. 188,000 persons residing around the Nevada Test Site received a collective exposure of 120,000 manR from atomic tests conducted between 1951-1970. The great majority, .apprx. 160,000 persons, received < 0.5 R cumulative exposure from external .gamma.-radiation. The highest cumulative exposure measured at a populated site was 17.5 R. Internal exposure, from inhalation and ingestion and its contribution to the radiation exposure to this population, was not determined. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
